Sick and tired?

I am currently 16 years old turning 17 this month. I was diagnosed with endo two years ago. My symptoms started when i was in 8th grade and they have progressively gotten worse. my doctors took two full years to finally figure out what was wrong with me. I have had endo for about four years ago and I feel completely alone. All of my friends, except for one, have basically walked out on me because I am constantly in pain. I have had two surgeries and I am going in for my third on the 22nd Now they are doing exploratory surgury because i bled for 28 days while on birth control. my doc did a ultra sound and he told me i had no lining left in my uterus so he has no idea where the blood is coming form. I have tried many different birth control pills and have done lupron. My doctor told me i have basically run out of options. I feel like i have everything i want in life an amazing family, great boyfriend, and one awesome bestfriend, I am currently in running start (college during high school) i maintain A's and B's but i am completely miserable on the inside. I feel like I have to put a on a fake smile just so I can relate to my friends who seem like they dont have a care in the world. i have missed about 40 days of school because of endo. I am so sick of people telling me to stop complaining, its not that bad, and things will get better when they are clearly getting worse. i dont thing people have sympathy until they have experienced chronic pain. I have never met anyone with endo and i thought i would give this a try.i am trying to reach out to anyone that will talk to me. i have been a wreck lately and i have been taking my anger and pain out on the ones i love and i know thats not right. i would do anything to know what it is like to be pain free again. i think i have forgotten what its like to not be bitchy and be in constant pain.

Oh my goodness! You poor thing, you're so young to have so many surgeries. I too had endo at a young age (although wasn't diagnosed till 4 weeks ago - I'm 29, I mean 35, I mean 29), and have had month long periods so I can sort of relate, then again you are going through a very very rough patch, so that's hard.
Friends - f-them. (lol) I'm happy to hear that one friend is staying by your side. I started to have serious pain 3 years ago and most of my friends just couldn't relate. They have shown hints of support on and off, and you know what? That's cool. They are human, they are going on with their lovely lives, and here I (we) are stuck going through something that is hard to relate to.
Hang in there, focus on yourself, focus on getting better - EMOTIONALLY as well as physically. I'm there myself. It's like "wholy s-t" I have what? I have a lifetime left of dealing with what?
You can do it. The fact that you're on this board shows that you're strong. I/we're here for you. I wish you a speedy recovery for this next surgery.

Sorry out my post I just had to get it all out :( I am always there for everyone else I rarely put my self before the people I love. I feel so bad for my boyfriend and my mom they get the worst of it. I am very happy they are there for me. But they also don't really know what to say you know? They try their hardest but sometimes they are just oblivious to the fact that I can be fine emotionally one day and sobbing the next. I hope they find what else is wrong with me haha. I also have hypoglocimia on top of my endo and sometimes I can't deal with all of my problems. I'm tryin to say strong and deal with whatever life throws at me but it feels like I step and inch forward and I get pushed ten feet back. Thank you so much for your supports I we greatly needed and appreciated :)

I am sorry to hear you are dealing with this. It sucks to say but those type of people never go away and I find women are usually worse than men. It is good to have a support group and the one thing I must stress is thank them for that even if you do take it out on them tell them I am sorry but.... and then say I just want you to know I am so grateful I am to have you in my life and I am sorry. We all know how you feel and you can vent here any time, don't feel guilt about your pain I have struggled with that ever since I was diagnosed and still do but don't you cannot control it and unfortunately it can run your life.... hugs and hope you feel better soon

sorry forgot to say also there is a great website with lots of information called endo resolved it might not hurt to print some information about endo off for your closest family and friends to help them understand

I have found that looking things up brings me wayyyyy down and my friends and family know what it is. I know they care they just don't understand. I also know that they tried and help me out. I think I need to go see a counseler ? Has anyone tried going to go see one? I feel like I need some one who can just listen. I am fearful that I will get into a deep depression and I do not want to get into that rut

Yes, have seen a therapist. I started to see a sports psychologist last October, and love him. You think about it, how do boxers go into the ring when they know they are going to get hurt? Sports psychology. He helps me with my pain, getting my life 'back', dealing with the whole potential infertility thing, dealing with friends, and my own inner demons. You are young, they often have counselors at high school and college for free, that is a starting point. If after a month, you don't like the person, don't stop there...try another person. Sometimes takes a while to get the right chemistry. :-)

I dealt with it in school too. Missed many days. Even the teachers would tell me I'm faking it or its just cramps get used to it. Went through the same thing with my "friends". I don't know what to say that could make it better. I find knowing or talking to people experiencing it helps you feel not so crazy and alone. Hope things get better for you.

It's horrible how people treat others. anyone with this disease I am willing be the most patient and caring person to you. To everyone who has this if you ever need to talk I am here for you cause I would rather be there for someone who is struggling and put my own problems aside because now I know what it is like to have people be there and I really appreciate it thank you guys so very much :)
