Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
After six tests on my GI system to find out where abdominal pain was coming from, I was diagnosed a second time with endometriosis. This time around, it's been weird. My appetite is screwed up, I have daily moments where my midsection gets really tense, followed by lots of pain and nausea and, sometimes, vomiting. I was told the tenseness is due to having been in constant pain. My menstrual cycle has been way off as well, no cramping but the endometriosis pain hits harder during that time. I was in the hospital for six days, just getting out this past Tuesday, and saw a gynocologist today. I was prescribed a hormonal treatment and told that if the pain isn't gone in six weeks, then a lap will be done.
The first time the endometriosis hit, I ended up with a ruptured cyst, multiple visits to a doc, and a specialist who said the pain was caused by a mild yeast infection. I gave up, and a year later was in so much pain that an urgent lap was done. Two cysts were taken out, as well as scar tissue, the remnants of the ruptured cyst, and a non-cancerous growth in my uterus.
The symptoms I have now had scared me at first. I thought it was all due to being under too much stress, but now that I know it's endometriosis I feel just a bit better. The only thing that gets me are the loss of appetite, nausea, tense muscles, etc. I feel the old, familiar pain constantly now, but the rest just puzzled me. Anyone else have similar endometriosis issues?

Nauseous constantly, throwing up 5x a day... Pain was unbearable....
I too am very cystie... My breasts every month growing 'popcorn' cysts inside them every month, very painful.... Also my ovaries are always cystie as well. My latest ultrasound showing a Large cyst on my left ovary.... But also pain, all kinds. Sharp/stabbing pains. Dull achey pain in my lower back... Pain that starts between my leg @ my genital area and radiates up through my body cavity.... I could ramble on.
Here's the long & short... Keep your stress levels down. Stress can directly effect Endo & how fast it grows and spreads. And OBTW most people that call themselves doctors are idiots on this diaease... My doctor told me that since I'd already had a surgery to remove Endo and talked of returning symptoms.. his response was " Endo can not return once you've had surgery to remove it!!!!! What an idiot.. jeez
Pierce, I had the exact same symptoms as you some 15 years ago. I had so many GI tests done...I thought I was havig gallbladder issues and irritable bowel. I had three HIDA scans and a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Until finally my Dr said he wanted me to go see an OBGYN about it. I already knew I had endo before seeing the OB....but it was another 3 years before I found a dr willing to do the lap. The Dr I had gone to first only wanted treat the suspected endo with drugs....I wanted to know for sure I had it (Even though I was 99% sure I did). I will also say though that now after three Laps I will often have pain in my mid section (belly button) that I am certain is from all the scar tissue from surgeries.
