Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
So I went to a second opinion doctor. Has anyone ever been told to see a general surgeon to make sure you don't have a hernia?
I think I have seen about every doctor and still they want to tell me the endometriosis is gone but they have yet to do a lapo. and from my understanding that is the only way to see endo and diagnose it? Am I wrong?
I am about tired of feeling like a lab rat and was told that a hysto. wouldn't help because being on lupron basically is a chemical hysto and if that wasn't working than neither would a hysto. Second opinion doctor basically said sine I was on lupron the endometriosis couldn't be back but they didn't remove it to begin with before they started me on these shots. I feel about ready to start screaming at doctors. Now I've missed how many days of work and fear of loosing my job if this keeps up. I just want to not live in pain anymore.... errrrr

Have you been to a specialist? I understand your frustration and anger. I've been there. Hell I'm still there. Drs are stupid. Lupron does not work on everyone. Heck, over half the people I talk to that have been on lupron said that it never helped at all. I would find a specialist if I were you, and yes the only way to be diagnosed with endo is to have a lap.

I was on lupron and it worked for awhile...LOVED it when it was working. If you have never had a Lap how do they even know for sure you had endo? They don't! So I would find someone who will do the surgery. I had to go thru two Drs and finally the third one said "I can't help you unless I go in and see exactly what we are dealing with." I knew she was the right Dr for me! For me I had just decided I wanted to know for certain if I had it or not....didn't want to keep taking all these hormonal treatments if I didn't even have endo....and if I didn't have endo than I had something else that wasn't being treated!

it sounds like you are getting some weird/bad advice from more than one doctor (hey, it happens, I had 11 doctor be wrong about me!!). You definitely need a gynecologist, who understand endo and knows how to remove it well. If you have never had a lap, they have NO IDEA what you have or don't and need to do one first (but again, make sure the dr can do it). I just read a book that has a chapter on Lupron and MEDICALLY - it does nothing for endo except stop symptoms and possible new growth. Lupron cannot get rid of existing endmetriosis, only surgery can!!! Hysterectomies often don't get rid of symptoms and it is ridiculous they are 'testing' all this crap on you without knowing what you have in the first place! ASk to see a gyn dr. who specializes in removing endo ASAP and insist they stop giving you things until you get a firm diagnosis (in Canada, they rarely will put you on all those drugs without being diagnosed with endo via lap first).

I have been diagnosed my last lapo they removed the endometriosis than it came back a few months later and they started me on lupron. The 2nd opinion doctor was suppose to be a specialist!
