Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Fortunately my ex-fiancee was so pissed off that he called up my pcp and demanded that I be seen. It turned out to be a large burst cyst, with fluid remaining in my pelvic cavity and a massive amount of internal inflammation. The doctor that saw me that day said she didn't understand how I could be walking around with all that happening inside me.
Personally I'm jealous of women who complain about cramping during their period. Compared to what I've (and probably most women here) have been through that sounds great. I have never met a women with endo who actually wants the pain medication as a treatment, but instead to get her to the point of functioning.
As to pain caused by endo: some women are diagnosed through surgery to investigate why they are infertile. They may not have had any major symptoms of endo, but may have it widespread. Other women may have small amounts but have horrible pain. It's all in where it grows and what it latches onto. The majority of women do have symtpoms though, that worsen through the years.
Professors, specialists and endo specialists always recognize true endo suffering pain. It's the loser family doctors who don't even know what it is who hurt women like us!
I'm sorry, Utah31, but just the way you wrote that made me laugh.
Seriously though, in my experience, it was my family doctor who fought for treatment and the loser GYN who wouldn't diagnose.
