Hey Alana...Prednisone is a wonder drug for so many issues. I wouldn't have survived these fucking shingles in my eye without the dosepak at early onset. The med has extreme side effects, though I'm not sure it affects your cycle.

Yeah I have NO idea what is going on it's so random, I'm not too worried about prego since 3 tests have been negative, but my doc said if I didn't get it by Friday that they wanted to rule out prego via blood since it's more accurate and then do blood labs just to be sure yuck. I know they said its not a big deal since it's only been a few days since I expected it, but it's still random. I go from gushing blood to nothing? Not that I'm complaining, just wondering what in the world is going on. I hope you're feeling better from those shingles, that sounds awful!!! I spoke to the doc after I left this message and they said that it could it's not unheard of, but I'm getting mixed reviews on that. Ugh....

I'm probably a bit late with this reply...but I wanted to mention that I was on Decadron (oral steroid) for about 6-8 weeks for a herniated disc. And my first period (while on the steroid) came on time but was odd---very light.
Then I didn't have a period for two whole months. My cycle just got back on track recently. Finally had a period last week for the first time in 2 months.
Menstrual irregularities are very common with oral steroids from what I've read. I think it was listed in the pamphlet (from the pharmacy) that came with my prescription as well.
I understand the angst. It's sort of nice not getting a period but after a while it's like um.....when are things going to start working again? :) But it will...just takes time.

I have been on prednisone for 2 yrs low dose for inflammation and it didn't do anything to me no bothers at all

Thank you so much for responding- yeah my first period was 6 weeks then I just got another 2 weeks ago from the first- ugh! So frustrating, so I finish the script of pred this Sunday (thank god), so I'm assumig things will be a little wacky for a bit. Luckily I have no pain from it just bleeding- so it's all OK, just annoying. My PMS symptoms tho were really bad :( poor boyfriend haha... But as long as it's normal, I can handle it- I just would love to stop bleeding- and now I don't know when my cycles are haha ugh I was doing so well too! :) I guess I'll just have to pay attention and figure out when I started and track it that way... ugh but I am def writing it down, and if the bleeding gets closer together, def calling doc. Sucks though I was like it could be IMPLANTATION bleeding and freaked (I do NOT want to get pregnant) and then I realized what was happening- I was like well the good news is not pregnant the bad news is... what the..?

How is your herniated disc doing? That's awful pain :( Confusechild, isn't it weird how we all react different? I wish there was one size fits all haha
