Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Where is your pain? That can indicate a lot of different issues.
-Pain in the lower area when it comes out is sometimes rectal endo (which I have).
-Pain when it is processing and in the abdomen as it gets near time to come out is often bowel adhesions or endo near the bowel acting up.
I often feel nauseous, then get cramping feelings in my bowels, then I get pain as it comes out, as I have all three of the above.
Some tips to help it:
-avoid dairy completely for a week or two and see if this is causing any of the spasms/pain etc. Often lactose intolerance feels exactly like bowel endo (again, I have both).
- try limiting wheat products but definitely do not eat ANY white bread, white flour products, pastries etc. They will cause it to be hard to go. If you need bread, eat whole wheat and limit it. Again, this eliminated a lot of my pain until period time (where it came no matter what).
-Avoid all caffeine, alcohol and fried foods. All increase prostaglandins and increase bowel/endo pain. They also make it harder to go....
Hope that helps. I can say that bowel endo is by far the worst of my problems. Going in public places is humiliating and often I want to scream it is so painful!!!
