I've had very small functional cysts that rupture on their own. I've also had larger cysts. Sometimes the smaller ones hurt way more than the larger ones. I don't know why... but I'm quite sure small cysts can cause a lot of pain.

I've had lots of endometriomas, varying in size from 1cm to 7cm and all of them have caused pain for me. The size generally has not correlated with the pain level so I will say yes, that cyst could definitely be causing it. Cysts suck, so sorry you're dealing with one!

Could be, although they typically don't do surgery on a cyst that size. I had a cyst rupture once and never had it diagnosed properly (I just knew what had happened later) - but it felt like appendices (sp?). It was sooooooooo painful and hurt for like 2 days and I thought about going to the ER, and then pop! It was gone.

If you have a ton of pain that is constant, it could also be adhesions on your ovary which are pulling it somewhere else. For example, my rt ovary is currently tied to my uterus. Every time my little one (I'm pregnant) gives me a good kick on that side I definitely feel it! I want to say 'hey little baby, that's like if I were to kick you in the nuts!' ha ha ha.

If the cyst does not go away on its own they will operate at your request/insistance.

I'm still waiting to go for my official endo lap diagnosis. I'm figuring they will kill two birds with one stone. Which I will insist.
