Obliterated Cul-de-Sac

Has anyone else been told they have this, and if so, what did your doc say about it? I've been googling the shit out of it and all I'm coming up with is that I have a ton of endo there. Any input is greatly appreciated :)

I just had a lap in feb, my surgeon said that I had tons of Endo in the cul-du-sac area. My ovary was also attached to my uterus. I will be having another surgery April 29th but will be having the Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy.
I hope you find answers, you need to speak with your doctor and ask her questions, hopefully she can have answers for you.

I also have issues with my cul-de-sac. Unfortunately from what I have read, this is pretty usual for stage 4 endo...No one said anything to me about. The original surgeon and GI would look at me all cocked eyed when I would mention I would have random stabbing pains in my rectal/sigmoid area...The GI was like, oh no that isn't endo...yeah. OK! All the surgeon told me was that I had stage 4, and she removed two large cysts it was until I read my own surgery report that I saw all of the other info. It sucks, but unfortunately, I am learning that that is endo. just plain sucks.

Obliterated is not a scientific typical surgical word. I couldn't believe what they wrote and am so sorry. The cul du sac area is a very common area for endo and adhesions. I think they meant there were so many adhesions that they couldn't see it. The cul du sac is a very small area so this makes sense...it could easily have adhesions over it that limit the visibility.

Hang in there, with a better doc you can see changes and results. I gave up on OB GYN's and my next surgery will be with one of the best in the nation. Maybe dr cook in California or a doctor in NYC. I am sick of OB GYN's opening us up to say 'oh, that's too much, I can't touch that.'
