I had my first period when i was 13. I knew right away something was off, about my periods. since 2012 I have been going to the hospital, in pain from debilitating periods. I kept going to my doctor, and they would continue sending me for ultrasounds and C.T scans. i was finally finished. i stopped seeing my doctor, until 2017. Around sometime in March, i realized something was wrong. the pain had increased greatly. I went and seen my new gynecologist and he confirmed PCOS. he said," there is a good chance that you have endometriosis as well, but since you had surgery 2 months ago i want to wait on the laparotomy." I replied," that is fine as long as we can find something to help the pain in the mean time." he perscribed me seasonal birth control. that didn't help my pain or periods at all. after the first month of the birth control (introvale), i had started my period. it was so aweful. i thought my uterus was going to prolapse. i made an appointment, with my GYN, the same day. I told him what was going on, and all he did was put me on clot busters and hormone pills. After 30 days i finally got off of my period. i had bled so much that i was super anemic. sleeping all day, dark circles around my eyes, pale, and completely drained of any strength. after i finished my period i went back to my doctor and told him that it had lasted 30 days. he decided that i needed a genetic mutations test. So he brought me a kit. He had me spit in a specimen collector and hand it to him. he then sent it off and had me tested for cancer genetic mutations. luckily it came back clean. July of '17, my gynecologist decided it was time to do the laparotomy. August 11, 2017, i went into surgery. They took me in for surgery and had me in post op in less than an hour. about 30 minutes after i woke up they told me that i have stage 2 Endometriosis. I had a feeling that i had it, but hearing it confirmed it for me. finally! the battle for confirmation was over. Thus began the battle for treatment. For a while now i have been on seasonal birth control, 2 laparotomys, and anti inflammatory medication. nothing has helped. i want to know what my best treatment option would be... i mean i haven't tried much, but i have kind of given up hope on trying to manage my symptoms. please help me find treatment options.

My mum had awful crippling period pain, her cure came with the menopause, I have heard of people having their womb removed also

I'm sorry I don't know the solution, but just wanted to send my support having had bad periods for many years I know how much it can really get to you and mine was only minor, so please keep researching and searching for solutions

Perhaps a certain diet and supplements could help some what? Maybe there is a hormone out of whack that could be treated, if you haven't got suitable pain relief then I'd suggest asking your Dr for better pain meds

My daughter had an abrasion surgery done to remove the endometrial material causing her great pain. This has helped without having a hysterectomy. Though it may need to be done more than once, since it may come back again. There are other procedures as well that may help now that you have a diagnosis.
Ask your OBGYN for a referral to a specialist in treatment.

I also went through a laparoscopy. Unfortunately, my endo came back shortly after. I went through countless of things before I was considering hysterectomy. I was only 21 at the time. I was avoiding the Lupron treatment bc i've heard so many negative things about it, but I figured i'd try it as a last resort. I'm so happy I did it, bc it was a success. I did 2 rounds and then went on birth control right after to prevent it from coming back. Trinessa is the only BCP I can take with minimal side effects (everyone's different). I was also on Norethindrone during the Lupron treatment so this may be why I didn't experience as many side effects, that others went through. Maybe consider Lupron. Diet changes and acupuncture can help as well. I've done extensive research on it and I believe that endometriosis is linked to liver stagnation and excessive estrogen. Good luck.
