Multiple Laps Question

My lap in early December was pretty much a failure...my doctor was able to remove one endometrioma but she said that there was so much scar tissue around my uterus that she didn't feel comfortable removing it (because she's not an endo specialist). I have an appointment with a RE next month who IS an endo specialist (he is also the chief of RE at the hospital). My pain now is just as bad (if not worse) than before my first lap, so I plan on asking him to do the surgery again ASAP to remove the adhesions. My question is this: for those of you who have had multiple laps, how long do you have to wait between the two? My appointment will be two months and two days after my first one and I hope I don't have to wait long to have it done again. I would rather recovery from surgery 100 times than have to deal with the pain of one more period :(

So sorry to hear about the failed surgery. I also had a surgery which missed some things because I used my OB GYN (who would have guessed I needed an endo specialist?).

I had my 1st surgery in April, and 2nd the 1st week of October. So it was 6 months for me, and my surgeon recommended I go sooner than that (4 or 5 months?) so I would bet you could have a 2nd surgery anytime. I've had 4 surgeries total in 2012 (some endo related, others infertility related) and no one has mentioned that the frequency would be a problem.

I hope your new surgeon is a welcome change and will bring amazing success....

About 2 months after my lap I had a consult with a different surgeon and one at The Cleveland Clinic. Both told me that they didn't think another doctor would do surgery on me for at least 6 months.

Be careful about multiple surgeries. Surgery can cause adhesions too. That's why I'm keeping my surgeries down because I don't want surgical adhesions on top of everything else. Adhesions from endo are painful, but surgical adhesions are also painful. I remember my grandpa being in severe pain from adhesions from his colostomy bag.

Tori Spelling has also been in the news recently talking surgical adhesions. Apparently she's having problems from her c-sections and now she wants to raise awareness.

Poisoned apple is right many surgeries can give you grief with adhesions I've had 5 since Feb of 2010. My ovary is now fused to my urethra and is "a complete" mess from adhesions and endo, so much so my doctor is writing it off, he doesn't believe it works, and if it does it wont for much longer because of the damage from both adhesions and endo. I'd have it taken out but my urethra (pee tube as I call it) is fused to my ovary and he worries exposing it to the open will cause me a lot of damage...but there will come a time I know (probably sooner rather then later) that it'll have to go....Adhesions will ALWAYS reform and usually worse then before so keep that in mind too.
