Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
It really baffles me that your husband would say that, knowing how much pain you're in.I'm not trying to put your husband down, but I understand that sometimes when I get a little loopy, I myself don't even want to be around myself!! But he should understand that you're going through a tough time.
I don't get a period since I take my BC pills non-stop, and it's been okay. I still get the pain, but no periods! Here's a scenario for ya: I'm with my boyfriend of 6 years, happy and in a good mood. Then, the next minute I look at him, I snap. Sometimes I don't even notice that I'm in that mood. I feel bad and then I'm crying. I swear I give myself whiplash from all of this. But I know it's something I didn't cause just for the hell of it, and I think my boyfriend knows too. He's been so good, sometimes I feel like he doesn't deserve me and my baggage full of crap.
The food cravings and aversions are nuts. One whole week I'm craving for McDonald's chocolate milkshake, the next week it's Poutine (french fries with brown gravy and cheese), it's a french-Canadian dish my family likes to eat even though I live in Rochester, NY. The smell of eggs really attacks my nose and makes me want to barf.
I understand where you're coming from. You're not alone!!
as for cravings.. as soon as i see myself reaching for chocolate or ice cream i know my period is coming.. i am not a junk food type person but at that time of the month i want it all! haha
as far as your husband.. he needs to understand that this is not under your control and he should just be there for you.. even if you arent acting like yourself! i know we dont know what its like to be them to watch us suffer but they dont know how we really feel either! sorry i hope everything works out!
1) You are SO not alone
2) Thanks for sharing
I started charting my moods a few months back because my mood swings were so intense. Sure enough, I'm a raving, irritable, angry woman 5-8 days before my cycle, depressed for a few days after my cycle starts, and a combination of both during the time that I should be ovulating. (I am confident I was still ovulating while on the pill). I've experienced this cycle while on continuous bc, regular bc, and no bc. I recently stopped my bc because my mood swings were so severe. Since coming off my mood swings are still the same, just not as intense. However, I'm now having pain and bleeding super heavy and will likely need to try bc again. My body does not like bc.
I have had food aversions so intense before my period that I have sworn I was pregnant! I also have intense food cravings... mostly carbs and Chinese food, with an occasional craving for ice cream. I recently went back to cutting gluten out of my diet (for the last 2 1/2 weeks) and that seems to have helped with the intensity of the cravings for carbs... but today I ate a whole Hershey bar in about 45 seconds LOL!
PMDD is very real. It's in the DSM-IV... well now the DSM-V. I'm not sure why they would have diagnosed you with something else. I have more anxiety than depression, so I currently take Klonopin as needed during my anxious/irritable periods... but I try not to take it at all. Years ago my doctor prescribed Prozac for me to take the week leading up to my period until the second day of my cycle. I think it helped... as least as far as I can remember.
My husband also has a difficult time understanding. He tries to be supportive, I just think they have a difficult time understanding how we can be so different from one minute to the next.
