Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
And oh, my God, I'm relieved I'm not alone with the crying! I've always been a bit emotional, yes, but holy mother of Jesus it's excessive! I know how it feels to get so worked up over so little and it can be so embarrassing! I know they don't really understand either, and I'm stuck explaining myself and it's like they get it, but they still don't experience it so they still don't FULLY understand.
About having kids- I personally know it would be too hard on my body to carry children and honestly I don't want to have periods, I don't want to have the extra pain, I don't want to have lady parts anymore. I have a LOT of chronic pain that nobody wants to talk about, nobody wants to explain, and I just wish I could make others understand it so they'll understand WHY I will never carry children instead of being belittled because the sexist norms of having to validate my existence as a woman are very real. Any time I'm having a bad day, coworkers, friends, family As whomever will ask what's wrong, and all I can say is, "I'm hurting and don't really know why." I just don't have an explanation. And as if I don't feel bad enough already - structurally defective is how I see myself - about knowing I'll never know what it's like to carry my own child inside of me, it's just so much worse when others completely disregard what I say like they're in denial FOR ME about having children.
It's just all so upsetting... I thought for a while I'd made my peace with it, but I really haven't.
