hey! My name is Jess I’m 21 years old. I was told a year ago I may have endometriosis. My ob wants me to get a lap done and I’ve been procrastinating on it bc I’m terrified of surgery... but of course I’ve been having chronic pelvic pain for the past 2 years. It hasn’t all been that bad, only when it gets about a week or two close to my monthly it flares up. My question is about the symptoms. I also have health anxiety and it’s one hell of a ride to have that on top of endo! But I’m always afraid my pain is from something that the docs may have missed. Since I don’t have a 100 percent answer.... I worry a lot.. but I have been to 3 different doctors and 2 told me they don’t know what it could be from but one ob highly believes it’s endo. My mom also has a very mild case and she’s 49! She never knew she had it, the doctors found it while they were taking out her tumors that were on her ovary. So I don’t doubt that I have it. I just wanted some other people’s opinion to see if they have the same symptoms or at least similar. I kno endo comes with pelvic pain butbthey never describe the pain. Mine is typically there all the time, once in a while i won’t feel anything. The pain usually stays at a 3 trough the month up until a week or two weeks before my period is due, it shoots up to about 6-7 range. My pain is not sharp. After this month I can tell my pain is due to inflammation. It’s more towards my left side in the middle of my lower abdomen. This month I have felt it pulsing... which I know it’s inflamed. It also only hurts when I press on it. It’s like an inflammation pain.. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Please let me know! Thank you ❤️

I was also diagnosis with endo about a year ago. My periods are very painful, I cant walk or do much. It also affects my sleep, and I too struggle with anxiety because of endo So, your not alone in that. I guess, it goes hand in hand, anxiety/feeling low when your in so much pain. I also have scars that inflame especially when my endo flares up. Have you tried alternative methods to pain? that is less intrusive to surgery??

Sometimes, I feel a part of the pain correlates from the fear of pain (which goes with anxiety). I took a workshop for chronic pain, and they recommended exercise and mindfulness as an alternative to help ease pain. it maybe helpful to look into it :)

I too am new to the whole endo thing but I am the same age as you and just recently had a laparoscopic surgery to remove cysts as well as endometrial tissue. The surgery was very successful in removing most of the tissue although I did wake up in a lot of pain, mostly cramping from the surgery. The first three days were the worst I was in a lot of pain and the pain meds were the only thing that helped as well as heating pads. After the first three days I stopped taking the pain meds because they made me sick. But about two weeks later I felt like myself again. I could finally workout again and do normal things, occasionally having pain and flare ups from everything healing. I thought this surgery would make everything go away and I’m not going to lie for me it didn’t, but it did lesson the pain I was experiencing. It also gave me answers, so if you are in a severe amount of pain I would say you should go through with it. If not, that being said the only things I find that are helping me so far is a heating pad 24/7, pain meds don’t really do anything but make me sleep or nauseous. I’m sorry to hear you are going through this as well. If you ever need someone to talk to please feel free to reach out. I will give you honest answers about what I’ve gone through and the pain I’ve experienced.
