I have not had any lupron shots, but I know how it feels to go into the unknown with drugs and treatment. It's so frustrating to go about this endo business with trial and error.
Wouldn't it be great if this disease received the funding and attention it deserves?

I'm sorry I can't be of help with this, as I had endo pain the entire time on Lupron. Just wanted to give you a {Hug} and let you know I'm praying for you to have an easy transition.

I had my last Lupron shot 12/30. I am terrified of what's going to happen. My pain has been very mild, almost nothing, so that's good. But I'm still waiting on my period. Last week I started having mild cramping off and on, I thought I was going to start my period, but now the cramping is gone and still no period. This probably isn't very helpful, but I will let you know what happens when I finally do get my period.

I'm in the same boat as you... I will get my last Lupron shot next week.

I was so nervous to try Lupron (because of all the negative posts about it) but it has been a godsend to me. It was truly the only thing that STOPPED my pain. And now I can't take it after this next shot. (It will be one year on Lupron for me.)

My doctor has been great and supportive and is giving me options as to what to do next. She would like me to try Mirena. I'm nervous about that because I don't know how my body will react to it or if it will be as good as the Lupron was.

My advice to you is to try something else and not, not do something.

I'm only on my second shot, and it has been wonderful so far. I worry about when it ends too. My OB is hopeing that it puts my endo and fibrods in a state of atrophy, that it weekens it. I'm 44, so she is trying to get me closer to natural menopause. I read someplace (I will look for it and post) that 65% of women after 6 months of Lupron treatment had and average of 2.5 years pain free.

I wouldl take the 2.5 years, but will obviously hope for 5 symptom free years!

Finally got my period and its awful. My endo affects my bladder and The pain is back. I have been up most of the night thinking I have to pee but very little comes out. It's upsetting because I was feeling so good on the Lupron I had hope that I would have at least 3 - 6 months before the pain came back. I'm hoping its just because its my first period in 6 months and maybe next time it won't be so bad, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case. But I do know that Lupron works wonders for other people. I would take it again because while I was on it I felt great. I had pretty bad side effects, hot flashes, night sweats, but the side effects are nothing compared to the pain of endo.

I did 6 months of Lupron injections, but my periods never officially stopped while I was on them. The pain go better, but it was most definitely still there. So, I can't really help you on this one as well as I'd like. (I just changed to a new doctor to treat my endometriosis, and since I've still been having periods this whole time, we're doing another laparoscopy next week!) The transition after my last shot wasn't all that bad, especially since I did 3 months worth of single shots and then a three month shot in the 4th month. About half-way through the injections, I didn't experience too many hormone-raging-crazy-woman symptoms; so, for me it was almost like nothing changed after that 4th shot. Like I said though, my periods never really stopped. After the 6 months were up, I did get a 2 periods a couple of weeks apart. Sorry if that's confusing. Good luck with coming off those shots. I have had a pretty bad experience with lupron, & my shot just wore off about 2 weeks ago. I have had some pain & that feeling like I have to pee as long as some other wierd symptoms, but that is just me. I am also on Mirena, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I also haven't had a real peroid in like 2 years (except when something major happens, like when I had a cyst burst & appendicitis in the same day). I hope you have a better experience than I did!!
