Everyone reacts differently but some advice is take your pain meds as prescribed even if you feel you don't need them. As long as you keep them properly in your system you are allowing the pain to be controlled. It's easier to keep the pain in control then to try to catch up with meds and have them work quickly because we know meds don't work quickly. Do little movements with your legs while your laying around, it helps keep the blood flowing properly. Rest and listen to your body, don't over due it. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

First of all, good luck tomorrow and make sure to let us know how you're doing. It really does differ from patient to patient and that all depends on what they find, how much they find, where it's located and how well you recover. I was diagnosed with stage III endo. in March of 2009 and it took me two weeks before I could return to work but about three to four to feel completely back to normal. I had a third lap. last Tuesday and will be out of work for two weeks from alot of scar tissue. Some women can return to work within three days but I highly double those women had excision surgery. What type of surgery will you be having? Expect that the pain will be worse the day after surgeyr but it may not be too bad.

Its diagnostic - but he said if he finds any he will operate on it then and there...if it's too bad he will get someone else to do it - apparantly the worse it is mean someone with higher expertise has to do it.

Im expecting just a day of resting with some reading/study involved...maybe a movie or two? - nothing much.

Oh if it's just diagnostic, I had that too in October of 2008. I only took off work the day after the procedure. That was a very easy recovery. You will not be in much pain. Good luck and let me know the outcome.

my doc just used local anesthetic and no pain meds before or after at my request, because I'm a highly allergic person, and I had *no* pain. Everybody is different, and it's going to depend a lot on what he does. It's emotionally stressful, so planning to rest is a great idea. You'll be able to move around, but you'll be fatigued and need extra sleep. Good luck!

I've been having little breakdowns due to university stress and stress over what could be found tomorrow - but I'll never know unless I go ahead! So it *hopefully* brings some sort of relief/answers.

Hey taters, just a word of advice. If you have a reasonably good pain threshold, tell them you want as little pain meds as possible. Too much anesthesia and pain meds can fog your brain for many days, and you absolutely don't want that if you are studying for exams. I'd rather have a little bit of pain that I can control with advil, than a lot of fog that won't go away for days. They over-do on the anesthethics and pain stuff. A local anesthetic and very light sedation is enough. Just my humble opinion....

I've learnt to deal with pain (as most woman here have) to a certain point so im sure if its nothing major I can keep it at bay. I am not studying for exams but for uni in general (assignments and so forth) so I deffinately dont want to be foggy! =)
