Hi All
We are just finishing up our pre-IVF testing and paperwork to begin our lovely journey with IVF. I was diagnosed via lap with stage IV endo in September. Previously i have responded well to Clomid and menopur with iui's, in fact we got pregnant 3 of the 4 cycles, just lost them very early each time :(
I started bcp on 12/26 and am scheduled to start lupron 1/19 if all goes well. Just wondering what your protocols were, how long the cycle went from bcp to egg retrieval, and how well you did and responded to meds with the endo.

Be very careful with clomid - I saw a pelvic pain specialist when my endo was really bad and we were trying to get pregnant and he strongly cautioned me AGAINST using it because clomid is what is used to GROW endo implants prior to excision surgery to make them more visible and easier to remove. I'd do your research, this could make your endo grow like wild fire. Not trying to scare you but just wanted to share what I was told. We decided against any IVF just due to the face that those drugs are known to cause cancers later on in life and for us endo girls, we're already at higher risk for breast, ovarian and skin cancer.

I can't tell you the entire cycle as I've only done egg retrieval. I think it very much depends on your response. Because of my PCO I responded quite well on my Right side (not so much my left) so I started BCP for 2 weeks from memory stopped it, then went on synaral for 2 weeks from memory then I began injecting and had ulstrasounds every 2nd day...It was about a week later possibly 8 days for me, however I have a friend who took longer to grow as she had a poor response. It looked like I had 16 mature folices 4 on my LHS and 12 on my RHS, on first inspection when I woke up I was told I had 12 eggs retrieved from this 16...however when I got my letter confirming I had 8 which we froze. You would go however from collection to transfer the next day....your letter would tell you how many survived the fertilisation and how many they froze after implantation :)
(this is what they do here but it could be different protocol for letting you know in the US).
Then you have the TWW
So I say roughly 6-8 weeks from day 1 of BCP to the end of the 2WW.
Everyones journey is slightly different that's important to remember. Coming off the pill I had some trouble with my hormones which I think made going onto the synaral longer for me... (I think you're meant to go on it at 8 days), my friend has longer of the injections due to poor response to eggs, my other friend ended up having issues with her uterus lining so she had to inject longer to make her lining juicer. So don't feel disheartened if aspects take longer we all have a bit of a different journey to the end :)

Shoesands-thank you for the info! We only did Clomid once before we knew I had endo. Doing Clomid resulted in our first pregnancy, but I miscarried at 7w4d, which was the furthest we have gotten so far :(
Taters- thanks for all your meds, it seems like most people who have done Ivf really do have different protocols, which is great because it means doctors are really taking every person into consideration before just starting pumping us with crazy drugs! Good luck!
