Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

Is there anything else that can be done?

I feel like all doctors ever suggest to me anymore is pain killers, trying a different birth control or worst case scenario another surgery (which will incidentally leave you with more scare tissue and possibly more pain). I'm just tired of being told that I just have to live with the pain. I'm only 21, I want my life and energy back! I felt so good for the year after my laparoscopy, I want that feeling back!!!

So, is there anything else that can be done? Anything that has been successful for any of you?

Yes, go to one of the nation's specialists. For me, it is worth the trip. There are supposedly amazing endo specialists in ny and ca. Check out endo resolved for a list. One of the specialists recently wrote a book (Dr Cook) and claims that the majority of surgeons don't see the endo in surgery, which leads to more and more pain. So you have to find a doc that can find it all, and uses excision to remove it.

Other options include Lupron or a hysterectomy (which 'fixes' as much as 90% of endo cases).... But who wants menopause and the loss of their fertility?
