Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

Hello Ladies,
It's been a very long time. I hope everyone is doing better..
I haven't been on here for so long. But can I say, during my darkest days, this support group was right there with advice and love and it meant so much to me AND it helped!
I had my last Lap in August 2009, and thanks to my surgeon and the Mirena IUD, I've had a really good 2 years.
All my symptoms calmed down and I have been relatively pain free for just under 2 years. I have also lost over 50pounds that I had put on due to all the drugs they stuffed down me, water retention and admittedly comfort eating through a couple of years of debilitating pain.
So I've had just 2 periods over 18 months. Which has been a blessed relief. I have only good things to say about the Mirena IUD. Once you get through a couple of months of pain, you are set. i know there are some horror stories out there and it doesn't agree with everyone, just like hormone pills didn't get agree with me but it's worth a try.
Anyway... I have been putting this off for a few months.. I kinda refused to admit something was wrong.
I started getting random cramps from april time. These would all of a sudden come on and the pain was extreme and intense. It would totally catch me off guard. These would last for a few hours. You know with normal period pain, you can tell when it's coming.. the pain starts off small but builds.. well that's been my experience? It wasn't like that.
So I ignored it. But it started happening more. Not really any blood with it all the time. For the majority of the first few months with this pain there wasn't any blood. Just discharge. But now I'm bleeding.
I've also noticed my bladder over the past 6 months has gotten really sensitive again. Sometimes it has even hurt to go. My bowel movements over the past 2 months have started being painful sometimes. I don't know if I have internal haemorrhoids because pain feels right up my lower back.. not near the exit lol. Also a NEW symptom I've had is when I've been going to the loo a lot, i start getting what feels like I've been cut from the back to the front. It hurts to sit and it stings and basically just feels like a bundle of needle but it also aches. I went to my GP, and she did just a lil look, barely an internal. As I was very sore underneath. I had tore during my last Lap and had to be stiched a lil bit. She said it could be something steming all the way from that.. she gave me some steroid cream and also with my other symptoms (pain) she said if it persists go see my gynea again. The cream only feels like a short term fix because the pain comes back. She said I was very inflammed underneath.
Anywayyyyyyy. So over the past 8 weeks the pain is getting worse and daily. I'm now popping pain killers every day and randomly bleeding. Its not like a period because it starts for a few hours and stops, and then starts and stops. It's not menstrual blood, it's just blood and that's how I can describe it. It's not heavy heavy but definitely causing issues. I am also getting a lot of discharge and little blood clots. I had 2 periods consecutively with 5 days between, in August after only having had 2 in 18months.
I'd be lying if I wasn't concerned... I can't take going back to square 1 like i was 3 years ago. I can't let it get out of control again..
So I'm seeing the gynae in a week. But just wanted to hear your experiences and advice? Is it back?
My gynae is very good but I'm just concerned because I've left it so long to see him that he'll sort of just use the "Wait and See Approach"
Thanks for listening :)
