Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Please share your words of encouragement...I need to vent here, no real questions, just sharing. I need your support though, so thank you for any and all kind words and stories.
Ok, just had my HSG done today to see if my one remaining tube was useful. They did see spillage on the xray, so fluid can get through it, but it is bigger than it is supposed to be, and the spillage wasn't "normal".
Turns out, that's considered a tubal disease. Some studies show that the larger tube harvest toxins which can impact the embryo, leading to either a miscarriage or another ectopic pregnancy.
Sooooo...when I looked a little sad and suprised, she said "well, you knew it wasn't going to be good because you have endometriosis."
Grrrr...I know she's right, but somehow I was hoping that this tube wasn't impacted. The laproscopy from my ectopic surgery showed that the remaining tube looked ok, not great but ok. My OB GYN didn't even want me to get the HSG, but the fertility guy did.
I'm not sure how to process this information yet. I have a couple weeks till my follow-up appointment, and I'm starting to realize that no single appointment will tell me everything. It's like a million (not 50) shades of grey with each and every appointment.
I wish I had more answers...but maybe this is ok.

Katie, I am sorry they had to take your tubes. It somehow feels as bad as losing a breast to breast cancer...actually, it hurts in a different way.
Anywho, my hubby and I researched things, I can go on a cancer drug if I have another ectopic, and last time it took 3.5 months before my tube burst (dumb doctor!). So this next time if my hormone doesn't go up at a good rate, we will insist on the cancer drug. It is scary, but I think I have a short term goal for the first time since January: have unprotected sex. :-)
If I have an ectopic, we will reconsider ivf or the other thing (iui?) but until then...wish us luck!!!!
