Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I too have been stung by the pricing of this laparoscopy!
Not as badly as some of you woman (mainly those in America) but as a uni student with my father on the invalid pension and my mother working to support them + look after him im going to find it hard I think.
Im in a private health fund which helps me get in sooner etc, however his a gap doctor which here in Aust. means I have to pay him over and above what medicare + my health fund cover (in otherwise he just wants more money). If he goes in and looks and does NOTHING else its $592 patient gap and if he operates its $1084 patient gap, and thats without the anethitist...I have savings etc but he said he wasnt "that much over". I've gone in to see him and hopefully work out a payment plan or something.
Next time im asking for a no gap doctor!
Blah, thats my little vent for today. Thanks for listening ladies! I know im not that bad off, but my procedure is on the 23d of Feb and its kind of been sprung on me!
