Tramadol helps with my pain a little bit, but only if it's mild pain. It makes me nauseated and tired and achy like I have the flu. Once it wears off I feel like I've just run for miles. Oh, and it gave me hot flashes! Needless to say I stick with a combo of ibuprofen and Vicodin which generally does the trick when my pain is a 7 or less.

It would make me nauseous and have diarrhea, so I had to take it with motion sickness medicine. It worked but my stomach could not tolerate so back to vicodin and alleve. Oye me :-(

I used to take Tramadol, I would take 50mg at first and than when that no longer helped relieve any pain I would take 100mg. It would make me even more fatigued and I would feel very hot/sweaty as well (most pain meds make me feel that way though) and after a couple of months of taking it, it no longer even relieved my pain at all.
From what I have read about Tramadol/Ultram it's not reccommened for extended use, something about it not being effective after a few weeks/a month. Also, my doctor began prescribing me Flexeril for my intense low back pain and spasms and she STRONGLY informed me that you cannot take Tramadol while taking Flexeril (something about Serotonin syndrome?)

Now, the only thing that relieves my pain is Vicodin and ibuprofen as well- and even than sometimes my pain is still at about a 6ish.

I took it the other day, my boyfriend stayed with me just to make sure nothing happened. I got extremely dizzy and itchy. Than on top of that the symptoms kept on going for days after I was horribly nauseous and tired and slept for 2 days pretty much straight. I will never take that again, I felt like I had just been knocked out from anesthesia- not a good feeling. But that doesn't mean that it won't work for you try it and see how it works. It did help the pain, but the side effects weren't worth it for me.

I feel like I should pipe in and say that a LOT of ladies on here have had great results with tramadol. We obviously are not among them but that seems to be a funny quirk about this drug: there is absolutely no gray area. It's either great or awful, and no one seems to fall in the middle!

Until recently I took Tramadol. I was prescribed 50-100mg every 4-6 hrs. I found that 1 every 4 hours helped some with the pain, but when I bumped it to 100 because I felt awful, it made the side effects too bad to stay awake! I alternated, taking 50 mg every 6 hours, with a low dose of hydrocodone in between and it managed my pain better without as many side effects. Sorry you are not having much luck with it, and I hope you feel better.

I don't think it helps me much and I get a headache every day that I take it and no matter what else I take it won't go away. I've been on it a few months and am never able to take as much of it as prescribed. I get that sweaty feeling too but never realized it was from the Tramadol until reading some of the responses. I hope you received your scan results today and that they were good.

I would be in dire pain and still leary to take the tramadol because of how it would make me feel. I was usually at home anyways in pain so when I'd finally cave and take it, I'd get sweating, rapid heart beat, and extreme exhaustion all at the same time. I'd have to just sleep it off but it did help with the pain. Just didn't like the other ways it made me feel. I was so tired when I'd take it, no way could I function if I were to take it at work.
