Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

Hey guys,
It has been a while. I have been a member on here for over a year, although not very active in the past half year or so. I just wanted to get on here and share my story. I was diagnosed stage four in Sept of 2013. I had two specialists I was seeing and twelve medications a day I was taking, including some muscle relaxers for pain and intestinal seizures. Here is the thing, endometriosis can affect more than just the obvious. It can pretty much get anywhere, including in very rare cases, your brain. I met a woman who was coughing up menstrual blood because her abdomen was so full of blood, it caused holes in her diaphragm and it all seeped into her lungs until one collapsed. She was still alive and kicking though and still fighting. Not only does it affect organs, but even after surgery, the damage has been done and organs that didn't have endo growing on them could still be affected and could still need to be healed. I have done a lot of self searching and research since I have been diagnosed and now I feel I can come out and share, that there is hope beyond medications and surgery in order to heal, that's right...HEAL our bodies. Our bodies are amazing things, just like when we get a scrape on our knee, the inside of our bodies have the capability to heal. We just have to feed it what it needs in order to give it it's best chance of health and healing. This means cutting out preservatives and any artificial food. No matter if it's "low fat" or "cheap" or "says it's healthy". Artificial is artificial and preservatives are preservatives. Our bodies are organic. Did you know there it has been found that bodies buried within the past 60 years are not decomposing? It's because all of the processed and modified foods we eat are seeping into our bodies and causing the human body to become processed and modified. Think of all the damage that does to the inside of our bodies!!! We are literally what we eat. Giving our bodies the best chance to heal also means feeding it probiotics and super foods and all kinds of good teas and natural herbs that help promote healthy organ function. Here is the thing though, I know many of you will read this and be skeptical still and I encourage this. Please do your own research and look into it! It is worth it!
Anyway, back to my story....I was in pain, taking twelve meds a day and being rechecked for endo just six months after my surgery. I was depressed, lost, hopeless.....then I found a blog. It's called www.endoempowered.com and it is by a woman named Melissa. She shares so much useful information what the body needs to heal and what different treatment methods and medications end up doing to us in the long run. She also shared her own story, which I would encourage everyone to read, as it was my inspiration. Surgery after surgery, years and years of medications and she switched and in four years is pain free and happy and living life to the fullest with no medications and no more doctor visit's where you know more about your disease than the person who is supposed to be treating you. I have discovered also though, that natural healing has not only to do with the foods that we ingest, but also with the thoughts that we think and with the lives that we live. Our thoughts are food for our bodies as well. I know for a long time I was trapped in the "I'm a victim. I hate my endometriosis, I hate my body, I hate my life, why me why me WHY ME?!?!" and my thoughts mirrored that. My thoughts were toxic to my health. We as powerful women must break away from those thought patters, take our lives back, learn to love ourselves again and love our bodies better more than we would love our own children. Our bodies are our loyal consorts through this life. Born with us and they will die with us. They take care of us every day in ways we can't even imagine, and are we taking care of it in the same way?
I don't take any medications, I haven't had any more surgery and I have my life back. I am on the path to healing and loving every minute of it. To all of you beautiful, strong women. There is hope. We can change the face of health.
If you would like to talk or have questions, please feel free to message me.
Thank you beautiful ladies.

Thank you for sharing your story.
I love when I see stories like this on here :)
Because there is truth to them.
That there can be a pain-free life beyond pills and surgeries.
I was diagnosed with Stage IV endo in January 2012. It was during a second surgery...not sure why the dr. the previous year didn't see it.
All he told me was that he saw a "small amount" and burned it off.
And a year later, I was riddled with it.
On my bladder, diaphragm, liver, ovaries, and behind my uterus.
The photos were horrific.
But all that matters is that the story has a good ending.
I chose to bypass the Lupron and surgical options offered.
Instead, I sought out a highly trained acupuncturist (an MD actually).
And he is also a Chinese herbalist.
And I feel very blessed to say that three years later I have not needed any further surgeries since that Jan. 2012 Dx date, I have been relatively pain-free, and my periods are incredibly unremarkable.
To the point now where I can't even remember now half the time the date it started or what it was like.
Because my periods are incredibly manageable and often pain-free.
As a bonus, on Chinese herbs I have minimal to non-existent PMS as well. I sleep better. I feel better.
I also made some nutritional modifications as well.
I know I can't sit here and say it works for everyone.
But it is so worth trying other options since medications and surgeries are often temporary fixes at best.
Thank you for sharing your similar story. I am so happy for you :)
