Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hey Ladies,
Once I started having pain during sex, and especially once my doctor told me it sounded like I had endo, I really just felt like less of a woman, and like I had lost a vital part of myself. I'd always really enjoyed sex, but even trying just became me fearing that it was going to hurt which was going to lead to the inevitable breakdown, and trying to do the "other stuff" had me worried that it would lead to sex. It was really a bad downward spiral for a while. Around July, my boyfriend and I broke up for a lot of reasons (we've since worked things out but that's a long story and not the point) and I finally got to just focus on myself and what I wanted for a while, and be happy with who I am despite endo. Well, one of my acquaintances started a boudoir photography business about a year ago, and she asked me to model for her. I was scared, yes, but something told me it was the right thing to do. I had a few months to prepare for the shoot and I spent it shopping for lingerie and trying out different hair and makeup looks, and finally remembered what it was like to feel sexy again! I had so much confidence. Once I did the shoot and saw the pictures I was stunned that I could look that good!
Well, the shoot was back in October and I still feel great about myself and my sex life has improved a ton, even during painful times. I know it may sound silly that it had such a big impact on me, but it really really did! I'm not saying you have to go out and get photographed half naked, but why not spend a day pampering yourself or go buy some new lingerie? It really helped me see myself in a new light, and that I'm just as much of a woman (maybe more) after being diagnosed with endo as I was before.
We're always talking on here about not feeling sexy, not being able to have sex, or feeling like "less of a woman," so I figured sharing my story about what helped me get over those feelings couldn't hurt!

I had breast cancer on top of having endo and cystic ovaries. Ugh...So this is a double wammy for me and my sexuality. :(
I work for Victoria's Secret and I think that I've lasted there for so long not just because its been a great company for me to work for, but I get all the fun, pretty, feminine, lacy, sparkly, girly gratis's. :)
I was watching an episode of Rupaul's Drag U where he takes average everyday women and turns them into drag queens and they were talking about under garments and how even if no one else knows that your wearing sexy panties, you do and it can give you a boost of confidence....I have to say I think he's right. I feel more self confident when I put my pretty frilly VS power panties and bras on for the day. :)
