Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I wasn't on gabapentin, but I feel your pain with the weight gain. I gained about 20 lbs on a medication once, and it was like all in my chest and face. And people pointed it out to me (rude!)! I also had memory problems. I would forget words and my spelling went to sh#t. I was completely embarrassed by it. I was working as a volunteer teaching little kids crafts and I was teaching them how to make felt flower napkin rings. In the middle of teaching I just couldn't remember the word "napkin ring" I had to say "napkin holder" and the kids would just correct me every time.
I stopped taking the med because it was getting ridiculous with the side effects.
Definitely talk with your doctor about your concerns. If the side effects are affecting your ability to function then that needs to be addressed.
There is a woman in another group I belong to who traveled from Alaska to WA to have surgery with a specialist there. Her name is Cindy Mosbrucker, she is located in Gig Harbor WA. I no idea how close that is to you, but thought I would put it out there. I have heard from several sources that she is a really good Dr. and does excision. I was actually watching a video tonight of her performing a surgery on a pt's bladder who's endo was deeply infiltrated. Anyways, here is a link to her web page: http://www.fhshealth.org/PhysicianDetails.aspx?physicianID=636170
Good luck, hope you start feeling better.
