first period in months.. help

I really just want to cry, they gave me ultram yesterday for the pain and IM not really sure what that is but it isn't helping all that much. Any other advice on how to deal with the pain would be great I don't want to go back to my dr telling him im in pain and im sick. Just telling him that I cannot handle this. ITs been hard. thanks for your help.

You can take ibuprofen/motrin with Ultram, but don't try to take any narcotics with it. It won't help the pain and it could lead to some nasty nervous system side effects. As for non-medication relief, I know what always helps me the most is a hot hot heating pad...sometimes I use two, one for my back and one for my belly. I also find that drinking hot tea can offer some relief.

I'm so sorry you're in pain. Definitely go back to your doctor and tell him/her that the Ultram isn't helping. You shouldn't have to be in pain like this, and there are stronger pain killers that you can have prescribed if necessary! I hope you feel better soon!

PS - Ultram doesn't help me either...you're not alone there.

Ultram did nothing for the pain I had after my lap. In December. My sister is a nurse and she said it works great for some people, but not at all for others. My doctor called me at home the week after my surgery and when I told him I was In pain and the ultram did nothing, he had me take Motrin. I had to take 600 for the pain to go down, but it did help.

I haven't had my period yet, but last week I had pain like it was going to start but it never did. WORST pain ever. I almost threw up from the pain. Used my rice pillow that I heat up, took baths and used Motrin but It was really painful. I hope you find something that helps!
