Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
So all in the same month I'm celebrating these 2 milestones in my life. On Aug 11th 2004 was my d-day for finding out I had Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Here I am 9 years later cancer free with no re-occurrence. :)
Now is the time for my endoversary so to speak. I had my surgery on May 17th last year and he removed what he could of the endo, fibroids, popped a cyst etc and by this time last year my endo had grown back with a vengeance and dead set on getting me back for disturbing it. At this time last year I was calling out of work sick almost on a daily basis, taking a leave of absence for illness at my other job. was becoming confined to my house and couldn't drive very far due to the pain. Nothing was working for pain anymore. I was fighting and calling my ob/gyn on a daily basis fighting to get an apt to get in for pain management, lupron injections etc.. They didn't even see me till the end of sept. What a horrible time that was. Still a little mad about it.
But feeling full of gratitude and sentimental thinking about how far I've come with this and all the treatment that I've endured and feeling really happy that health/pain wize I'm doing 90% better and have learned and accomplished so much. I still have a bad pain day once in a while but I'm so happy to be where I'm at!
I hope to pass my torch of pain free good health days on to you ladies and hoping that all of you will find something that works for you or that there is finally a cure for this piece of crap disease that upsets so many our lives.

August is also an interesting month for me. Last week I celebrated my 7 year craniversary of having a brain tumor removed. I had surgery at 23, turned 24 12 days later. Then last summer at the beginning of August I found out I had large cyst that were likely from endo (confirmed in Sept).
With everything else going on, it is nice to be reminded of what we have to be grateful for! :-)
