Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hi, I realize I'm not the most standard endo patient, but still. The Endo Foundation has new materials they just made available, including an endo screening tool. Do you agree that this could have flagged you as someone with endometriosis before your diganosis?
I think I was in denial, and didn't follow my periods closely enough to realize that pains followed my ovulation and started a week or so before my period started. Plus, my worst pains were in my back, and my BC masked the pelvic pain.

On September 29, 2012 the EFA hosted our Second Annual Lunch & Learn with Padma Lakshmi, "Consider Endometriosis: Tools for Nurses to Recognize Symptoms, Behavioral Patterns and Emotional Repercussions of the Disease in Young Women and Girls".
This educational event, produced in collaboration with North ShoreLIJ/Lenox Hill Hospital, was designed to raise endometriosis awareness and offer resources to support the early detection of the disease.
The "Consider Endometriosis" Tool Kit, launched at the conference, offers resources for both patients and practitioners to track symptoms and assist in proper diagnosis.

I went to a sleepover and that's when my friends were like, "uhhh, that's not supposed to happen." It was a wake up call for me.
I never bled heavy, but I answered "yes" to the other two questions.
I think this is great a idea!
When I started to have pain outside of my period, I looked online and didn't ever consider endo. Most of the endo websites talk about bad pain during periods, not at other times. So yes, this would have been helpful!
