Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Here's a link to a petition asking that women who suffer with endometriosis receive appropriate treatment - medically, legally, and socially.

They hope to get enough signatures by May 10th, 2013. Check it out, and consider signing it.
Petitions are awesome, but I'm also writing to my elected officials about the need for appropriate medical care for women who suffer with GYN related conditions. And I'm even writing my local med schools. Endometriosis is NOT a rare condition (it affects over 170 million women globally), so there is no excuse for a doctor who is studying gynecology not to know about it, or keep themselves up-to-date.
In any other career field if you were ignorant of such a large percentage of necessary information you would be fired. The same standards should be held for medicine. So I completely agree with the petition when it asks for classes about endometriosis to be mandatory in medical school.
Anyhow, thought I'd post the petition for those interested.

The gym that I go to had Endo awareness pamphlets; I was so excited when I spotted them! I sent an email to them as well; hopefully they can spread the word about the petition as well!
