Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
for me i had to quit my job due to endo. i worked as a nurses assistant in a nursing home and i cared for 13-16 people myself whom were COMPLETELY dependant on my care. on a good day i had maybe 3 who were able to care for themselves somewhat but needed reminders(bathing, bathroon, feedings) I had talked to my boss about this and alot of people at my job had quit, got fired and the ones who stayed didnt want to work for others so i had to work no matter what or how i felt. quitting this job was the best thing i did! i never had depression but with this job i become extremely depressed. when i was at work i would take 800 mg ibruprhen, a hot bath before going and an ice pack for about 30 minutes before leaving. i am training to become a dialysis tech. which would be alot better on my body than nursing home work. good luck
Best wishes and I pray that you will find a way to make everything alright.
P.S. ENDO SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for nerves, I take Klonopin for that. I would suggest perhaps a low dose of Valium for your nerves. Its a pretty weak anxilyotic (spelling?) at low doses and if you have no tolerance it might really help the nerves. Don't take it long term though. These drugs are not meant for long term use. I regret getting addicted to them. A starting dose of Valium is about 2mg. 40mg does nothing for me. Thats how bad it can get. You don't want that.
PS: I'm a peon at the place I work. I have no say in anything, so sadly, I have to be a robot most of the time.
Try here: career step (dot) com the employers listed on there site hire work at home medical transcription and there are more out there.
Throughtout the five years of suffering I do figure I need a job to work from home... I build www.handywise.com, hoping this website will allow me to work from home and also let other people to work from home as well. It is a website which allows professionals to offer advices (email, text chat and video chat) to people who need to find advices. But I didn't antipicate the amount of work needed to promote the site. So it is still work in progress since 2007 when I launched it. I just don't have the time and energy... and the health to take the business off the ground :( Plus working full time and a half to support the family, I am really tired. It is now year 2011, I feel like a loser.
I don't have a job right now, but I'm a full time student at an honors college so I feel your pain about the endo getting in the way of life.
If it wasn't the side effects from Zoladex or the pain, it was the pain medication making me unable to function properly. I can't imagine what this would have been like with the stress of owning and running your own business. (I'm impressed that you were able to do all that through the endo. I don't think I could.)
You can do it!
On another note, there are also insurance companies who hire medical people to handle a lot of insurance cases at home. I am in school to get my RN, and I may look into this option later if I find that I can't work 12 hour shifts in a hospital.
- I've been a Registered Nurse for 8 years, started out working on a general medical unit in a large hospital- was very hard at times prior to my period because I would get pain flare ups. Luckily I would have some warning prior to it flaring up and would try to sit for a minute to breath my way through it if I could. It's hard because the pain makes you so tired so by the time you get home from work you are completely exhausted. I eventually switched jobs- worked for a few years as a visiting nurse which was great because I was on the road and worked at my own pace so if I needed to take a break between patients. I now work as a document review/quality assurance nurse which works the best, am able to work from home 3 days a week and in an office 2 days a week reviewing other nurses work and teaching classes. Don't let endo prevent you from accomplishing your goals there are ways around it. It takes so much out of me already but I refuse to let it stop me from doing what I want- just need to compensate and get creative sometimes.
Good Luck to you all!
