I am 41 years old and have had endo now for 20 years- i had at least 8 laporoscopies and then a hysterectomy, with the exception of one ovary the doc left, cuz she thought i was too young to go thru menopause...Really??? 2006 was the hysterectomy- the pain is back - well, it never really went away- i mean it has gotten "to that point" again :(
I am arguing with my doc becuz i want the ovary out and he wants me to use BC pills, and start that same ol' cycle from before... I am frutrated- it's like going in circles, damned if i do and damned if I don't... WTH?

Ugh, how horrible! Have you considered traveling to a national specialist? Your case sounds dreadful.

I may be in your shoes in 6 years, who knows. :-(

I was reading Dr Cook's web site and saw a video on YouTube of his.
He is often considered the leading expert. He says the pain will continue until all of the endo is removed. And he said finding the endo is like finding a dime in a pile of crumpled sheets.

So removing the ovary could help, but could do nothing. Hard to say. Either way, sounds like you need a new doc!

yea, I agree, recently started looking- the gyno's here have not idea.. I have read about doc cook, maybe need to research it more,.... the medical bills are killing me, too

Also, i do not understand why endo is still considered a gynocological disorder, if it can be anywhere else in the body! how do hormones help that??

So the gyno part is because our pain increases with our periods. Hormones regulate our periods and thus are supposed to reduce our symptoms.

So the BC used to help me. I can't be on BC right now because we are TTC - but otherwise I'd try it again. Also, ovulating is killer for me! I get these huge cysts and was just thinking about it the other day - now that my tubes are gone - where will the cysts go?

I get that it helps with periods and pain, have had it for 20 yrs... but have not had a period in 6.. almost 7 due to hysterectomy-- that's why i asked the question...:-/

I think it's because you still ovulate because you have an ovary. That's what they told me.

Sounds like a stab in the dark though, they just need to find your endo and remove it darn it...

It's gynecological because endo is tissue from the uterus that is just growing outside the uterus...and grows from hormones.
