I am not sure about ablasion. I have never heard of it helping anyone.
I am glad you are doing the lap. They should be able to remove any endo and polyps they see as long as they are not on other organs at the same time but be sure to call your doc and clarify that that is the plan.

Oh they're removing whatever they see! Trust me, as soon as he did the pelvic for my cervical infection (which thank god was normal bacteria no STD or anything I did wrong phew!) I immediately got nauseous and the pain ugh! I'm just done with the back pain, cramps, bleeding, migraines yatta yatta. I just don't know how to get rid of the blood yuck! Hows your recovery going?

An ablation is where they burn off your endometrial lining so you don't bleed anymore, or minimally you won't bleed nearly as much. I know you've said you don't want children but you need to be aware that if you do get pregnant after having this procedure that you are at risk for a very severe condition of the placenta. OMG! I totally forgot about your cervical infection. It is very important that you have this surgery. I am doing ok. Tomorrow make 30 days since my hysterectomy and BSO. It has been a difficult recovery in terms of how slow it seems to take to that your strength back. My doc is writing me a note for another couple of weeks off from work. So I will have had 8 full weeks off. She said she would due that due to the complexity of my case and my pain level. Weaning off the meds has been difficult. Hot flashes and pain when you over due things. So I am trying to be patient, but can't help but feel like a lame duck sometimes.

I had polyps removed with a hysteroscopy/d&c. I would assume they could do that during a lap, too.

Thank you ladies! I hope they can do everything at one time! Don't rush your recovery tho you just had a major surgery! I took 6 weeks for my vestibulectomy and that wasn't near what they do to you. It sucked too cuz I felt fine but had to take it easy cuz of where it was :/

What is a vestibualectomy exactly? I looked it up but not sure I understand.

Where they remove your vestibule and replace it with vaginal skin. Fun shit. I'm scared to death of this surgery.

I just responded on one of your other posts and was wondering how you were doing. i'm SO GLAD you're going to have the surgery!!! You really do need this so you can have your life back.

i had an ablation (plus tubal) with my lap. My doc suggested the ablation because my periods had become SO heavy. we don't want any more children so were fine with going ahead with it. he said i prob would have a very light period but may not even have a period anymore. i am FINE with that. Bleeding through a super plus tampon in an hour sucks. But i do think this was where most of my pain came from when recovering. it was worth it, YES! but i wouldn't do it just because your doc suggests it. my doc required that i have a tubal, getting pregnant can be extremely dangerous after an ablation so something permanent is the way to go.

I think the vestibule surgery you had sounds like a much bigger deal than a laproscopy. You have been through a lot.

Most of the time I think it is a fair modest recovery, about 10 days. I am not a typical case because of all my issues going on, it did not do much for me except help to diagnose me. I was still in just as much pain afterward. But Alan a you HAVE to do it at least get diagnosed properly! I would wait on the ablasion part however. You can always change your mind about that.

You need a lap to diagnose the problem. Why February ... thats ridiculous. Im sorry but it seems like you are meeting your fear stop you from having surgery but complain all the time about the pain and/or bleeding. You have to want to get better. If you dont stand up for yourself no-one else will. I hope it helps ypu so you can get your life back.
