Does anyone else have this issue?

Since being diagnosed in February, it has been a bit of a struggle to figure out how to deal with this Endo. I am in the military, but I have a desk job. I have noticed that sitting all day sometimes is just awful, and it almost makes me sick on some days. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if you have any tips and tricks to making it a little bit easier to deal with. I can't excatly just lay down at work when it "flares up." Also, is it 'normal' with endo to sometimes get a feeling of a light contraction out of nowhere?? This part is very frustrating, and I need a better way to deal with it. Again, I am new to this group, but it is nice to find a place to talk through these issues since I know nobody who has a clue what Endo is...if I try to explain it to them they just look lost. Thank you!

That doesnt sound so fun. Ive had Dr's tell me that endo can absolutely cause contraction feelings...I explained my pain, and they said they were labor pains. So, you're not alone. Is there a pain specialist anywhere near you? I dont know where your based. They can help you to manage the pain, you shouldnt be suffering like that. Try to stay away from fatty foods too, can cause inflamation. I have wondered what it would be like to be in the military and have endo. How do you do it?
Its funny how no one knows what endo is, when 8% of women have it. Confusing. I havent met that many women with it at all. And like you said, no one understands, and many times are like endo what?

I definitely know the contraction feeling. It's endo. I had it pretty bad before surgery, and for a bit after. At first, I had no idea what was wrong with me. I knew I wasn't pregnant, but I felt like I was in labor!

That specific pain went away about 2-3 months after surgery. I have another friend with endo and she had those pains and hers went away after surgery. Strange, huh?

Hope you feel better! When I'm at work, as hard as it is, I try to forget about it. Doesn't always work, but I find distraction works best. Does your boss know? I know it was much easier for me mentally when I knew that if I had "flare up" at work, my boss would know what is wrong and I didn't have to explain it in the moment.

Yankees8: Thank you! There are pain specialists near me, but I have yet to get the referral to go. And as far as the military, I am likely getting out because of it...in the medical regulation, it says "Endometriosis does not meet the standard" which means I have no choice but to get out. & you would think with 8% of people having it it would be more widely known!

hotchocolate: I feel better knowing I am not the only one with these concraction like pains. It sucks!! I guess it really does vary person to person. My boss knows about it, and as he has tried to understand it he still does not...for example, when I tell him I feel like passing out just because it hurts, he gives me a look of "suck itup & deal with it" because he has no clue what it really feels like!! It gets quite frustrating. It would probably be easier if I had a female boss with a tad bit of understanding!! Thank you for the advice.
