Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
My name is Charlotte and I have been battling these conditions for 4 years now, I have had them for much longer. I deal with 4th stage Endometriosis, IC and IBS/Outlet obstruction conditions. This disease can make us feel powerless because it can consume us sometimes and takes so much from us. It has taken so much from me as well. I have had eight surgery's, receive weekly bladder instillation's and quarterly surgery's to manage my conditions. My case is so advanced it has eaten through my gallbladder, bladder ,abdomen,pelvis and bowl. I have tried to work while managing my conditions but its impact is to great and it always wins. I Have been fighting for my disability for 3 years and have been denied two times. Not only do I have to fight for my life everyday I also have to watch my family suffer. We have almost lost out home 2 times and have sold everything. I am reaching out because I want to know if anyone has been approved for Disability due to any of these conditions? I know it must be a battle to work, I give credit to the strong women who can. Daily Strength is such a wonderful place to come together with people that deal with the same questions. I thank Everyone for their support. If we stand together we can gain power over this disease through knowledge!!
Endometriosis is not an approved condition for disability, but Chronic Pain is. If you've already been denied, I would seek help from an attorney.
For me, I am working on my first application so I haven't gone through the whole debacle yet. Just trying to gather all my medical records, doctor statements, and paperwork before turning it all in. I am hoping to be approved for SSDI but am also applying for SSI in case I am not. However, I think I have enough work credit hours for SSDI.
