So I've had my first laparoscopy done that confirmed one site of minor endometriosis out of three possible sites (I was never told what the other sites ended up being - the Doctor I deal with is not the greatest at explaining or being sympathetic). I had it done on January 11th and my symptoms prior to the surgery, worsened by 20 times after the surgery. I had my follow-up appointment pushed to last week (he had it set for 6 weeks post surgery- I moved it up to January 31st). What was explained to me was that because my site of confirmed endometriosis was so minute, it does not have reason to be causing me the pain I was being caused (feet feel tingley and like i've done a 50 mile hike at the end of the day, knees hurt, thighs hurt, buttocks, lower back, kidneys, etc. - basically what they call sacroiliac joint pain, usually associated with severe endometriosis whereas mine was very minor). Still feeling the pelvis pains, etc.
The same friday of last week (February 3rd), I was feeling crappy all day the same as always, when suddenly, once I was done work for the day, my pain just practically vanished (on a scale of 1 to 10 - 10 being dying pain, I'm at a 2/10 out of the blue). It still hasn't even gotten that much worse, I'm at maybe a 3/10 now. My family doctor said she reviewed the gyno's surgery report and wants to see me because the gyno noted it could be an autoimmune disease or lupus, etc.
Can endo pain just disappear out of the blue like that after laparoscopy? Am I going insane? I know what I've felt I tracked it for so long and went back after the surgery to compare notes and I was feeling the exact same stuff. How can this not be endometriosis related when I fit the bill and all my research (doctors have been very dismissive) shows consistency with endometriosis? Does anyone have other options I can mention to explore, or ideas/answers?
I feel like i'm going nuts or it's all in my head but then I physically see the words I've written and know it's not just me. Can pain just disppear?
I find it so annoying when Drs are misleading patients about endo pain. There is NO correlation between the amount of endo lesions and pain, none! There might be some correlation with lesion location...
I've also seen people have the type of pain you described when they have lesions in the cul-de-sac region. Maybe that's where yours were and the pain went away once they healed post-op?
