Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Everything else(heavy flow, fatigue)sounds like classic endo symptoms:( Are you on any kind of bc pills?I'm sorry you are going through all this right now:( I really hope you can find some answers on here and from your doc!!Please let us know how u r!!{{{hugs to you}}}}!!!
My period gives me anxiety, like I can't function, I hate every second of it, and I can't function, not to mention the anxiety I have that it wont end (which is ridiculous because it always does, but it makes me have insane thoughts). I guess before I was on bc when I was younger my period would be so heavy for like 10 days every 2 weeks than I wouldn't get it for 6 months, than it'd pop up again out of nowhere and it would be so awful. Ugh, sorry needed to vent.
BELIEVE me when I say that I know how you are feeling. That's why I found Mellissa's post of the Patterson book enlightening on Sunday. I am a wounded veteran of this "so-called life". My existence has been one of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
I refer to myself as being FAB....and that "ain't" short for fabulous=)
For as far back as I can remember, it wasn't just the endometriosis. I was in a near-fatal car accident my senior year in high school in 1978. Six years later I came frighteningly close to being decapitated by a drunk driver (his car hit another head-on and hurled that car onto my hood/windshield). Eleven years after that, my Jeep was totaled by a teenager (the daughter of my very best childhood friend--we were in each others weddings) on her cellphone. She "lawyered up" with her insurance company to threaten, harass and intimidate me... when all I asked for was my new Jeep to be replaced. They forced me into depositions revealing not only my long-standing injuries from previous accidents (none of which I was liable) but also dirty dish on my husband's affairs while I was suffering from endo surgeries and aftermath. (what did that have to do with anything?) My "friend" from high school gave the insurance lawyers the info about my senior year car accident. She knew FIRST HAND that my pregnant sister, my mother and I were airlifted from that scene in 1978, after being T-boned at the intersection of 2 major highways. They did everything they could to crucify me, so that her teenage daughter was not blamed for the accident.
I left there that day, feeling so battered, beaten, and bruised that I did attempt suicide. I had a complete mental breakdown that required hospitalization in a psych ward.
Thank God, literally, that I recovered to a point where I was no longer suicidal. I still "go to crazy" sometimes, but I try not to linger.
I sometimes b@#ch about my shoes, until I see the person with no feet. What I'm trying to say, although not eloquently, is that you WILL GET THROUGH THIS. I joke now that I wish I could run away from ME.
My pastor tells me to bake a cake for someone in need instead of having my own pity party. I may think 'Yea, FU because you don't take my suffering seriously". But I bake the cake anyway, because I know he's right.
You'll be okay, sweetie...but your journey will be long.
As for how you treated your BF or dad...They'll get over it. You will, too. We all say and do things in anger, pain and frustration. That doesn't excuse the behavior but a simple heartfelt apology goes a long, long way.
I shared that bloviated life story to show you that WE CAN ALL OVERCOME....whether it's the betrayal of a friend, a lover, a parent or a sibling or spouse...or a disease that is not terminal. Your pain is NOW. It can be treated. You can apologize for your hurtful actions over the weekend.
The secret to survival is "Do not meditate on the trials so much that we fail to celebrate the triumphs". You will have good days and bad...most of mine just plain suck! My husband says he wishes he could take away my pain. I respond that the best thing he can do for me is to LOVE ME THROUGH THIS....that includes the spells of rage, heart wrenching sadness, loss of self, loss of "what could have been" aka regret, etc., etc. I think he has the hardest job.
I am having my 2nd lap on Thursday and it cannot come soon enough....
Remember, stay persistant with your doctors, not all of them are knowledgable about endo and not all with really want to do everything possible to seek answers and solutions for you.
I am on doctor #6 or 7 at least by now. It feels like an uphill battle most days. But stay determined and you will get the answers and solutions you need.
Just praying for strength and reminding myself that God must think we are CHAMPS since He says He will not give us more than we can handle!!!!!
Please let me know how you're lap goes, I am no joke terrified of it...
