Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Birth control pills dont work for Endo! If somebody can call me out for being wrong on this...please do.
@BrehnPetry - you asked for it. :-) teeee heeeee heeee.
Yes, i can call you out on it. the pill kept my endo manageable for 6 years. Before BC I was always exhausted, bad IBS at the time of my period, bad allergies, bad periods, skipping work because I didn't "feel right"
AND THEN on the bc I had energy, happier, was focused at work (became a manager), was constipated but rarely had IBS, and my period pain was minimal.
Then when I went off bc to try and get pregnant...that's when the shit hit the fan. I spiraled out of control, my back pain went from treatable to untreatable...I was sick in bed many days in a row, I became depressed...it was aweful.
I college I didn't know I had endo, and I was on Depo. I LOVED the feeling it gave me, but my boyfriend at the time thought I wasn't frisky enough on it. It worked well for me. Then I was on and off BC for years, which is not healthy. then when I met my hubby (grins) I went on the patch and then nuvaring. they worked well.
Hope this helps, how was your experience on BC?
I just wonder because I've had all these new symptoms since starting the pill. Sometimes it is my bladder, sometimes it is my ovary, etc. I never had these symptoms before starting the pill. While it makes my periods so much better, I'm wondering if it is actually making the endo worse.
Now I've been on Lupron for almost two weeks. At first it increases estrogen, then it drops to menopause levels. Damn have I been depressed the past few days.
