Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
So I know your CA 125 can be elevated when you have endometriosis but the report that came back with my lab work said it is not common for that to happen and only happens in a small percentage of people. Mine came back at 71 with a high normal being 35. I see my doctor soon and I'm trying not to worry but I'm not gonna lie that sounds pretty high. Anyone else ever have one that high? I do understand what the test is generally used to detect. Online it said it can be affected by ovarian cysts too which I have very large ones but the lab report said nothing about cysts affecting it. Patience has never been one of my qualities! Lol
I had a large, benign ovarian cyst (for which I was over-treated and harmed - lost all my sex organs). I did not have an elevated CA125. However, a friend of mine had the same type of benign cyst and her CA125 was over 1000. Her gyn also removed all her sex organs. Neither of us have a family history of ovarian cancer so we had/have a VERY LOW risk of OC (less than 2%).
The removal of our organs increases risk for many other health problems such as heart disease, osteoporosis, dementia, Parkinsonism, mood disorders, impaired cognition and memory, poor sleep quality.... They do not include the anatomical and skeletal damage caused by hysterectomy.
