Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Just stick to what you are doing. Don't tell her you want to make it work, SHOW her. It is the little things that count...
I wish you the best of luck. Women are a mystery without pain, but add a nasty disease and it makes it ten times harder.
Doctors instructions can vary from doctor to doctor and our endo varies from woman to woman so maybe she's going against the doctor instructions because she finds it's better for her. When I was diagnosed a doctor told me to get pregnant. I was 22 and single and I obviously ignored that poor advice. Doctors can be misinformed too :).
My main piece of advice is talk to her. She will probably tell you that you don't understand and truth be told you can't really understand unless you have endo but that doesn't mean that you can't empathise. So tell her that. Tell her it's ok to have a day in bed and do nothing and you can look after dinner, cleaning etc.
What you're doing there is proving you care about this person a hell of a lot. And that speaks volume about YOU so don't feel defeated :).
You obviously care about her. I think that it's important that she understands that what you say to her is coming from a place of love and not insensitivity. Try to communicate with her that you care about her and that not being able to help her makes you feel frustrated and stressed. It might take her some time to understand... it took me a couple years, but be patient. I think it would be great to encourage her to get out and do something really nice and fun that won't wear her out too much. But don't make her feel obligated or guilty, make her feel like she deserves so much more than a lifestyle of wallowing. Express that you want her to keep fighting and check out of depression for her sake, not yours.
Hopefully I made some sense. Good luck.
