The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hi ladies!
I had my lap surgery almost three weeks ago and finally got my results yesterday. They removed endo from the lining of my left ovary, but they found a spot that could not be removed and it has me worried for what will be in store for the future. Apparently it is on my ureter, which is a line from my kidney to the bladder. My doc says that if she were to remove it that it would have caused damage to it. However, if it keeps growing I will have complications with my kidney and/or bladder. Has anyone else dealt with this?
My next step is to find a way to slow down the growth which my doc says she typically uses birth control pills. Right now I have the arm implant, nexplanon. She is going to consult with some other doctors to see if the implant will work as well as the pill does.
Also, while the doc was doing the surgery she had a general surgeon come in and noticed my gallbladder is inflamed so now I need that removed! I'm not as worried for that, though.
I am just so frustrated and mainly because I can't control this disease. I really have nobody to talk to that understands what I'm going through and I am sick of my family telling me I'm fine and everything will be OK. It's just not what I want to hear right now even though I know they just don't know what to say.
On a good note, my pelvic pain is nothing near what it was before surgery, so I am very thankful for that! I only have some irritation on the left side and sometimes when I urinate. I am assuming that is caused from the endo that is still in there.

Thank you so much for your response! I am so sorry you had to endure so much... that sounds absolutely horrible. I am going to take your advice and find a specialist. My GYN doc has been amazing so far, but it makes me nervous not knowing if it will keep growing or how fast it will grow. I know everyone is different and I am hoping the birth control will be able to slow it down. All my issues just started at the end of May so I feel like this came on pretty fast. I just hate the guessing game! Thank you again!
Thank you for your response! Did you have any symptoms from it being on your ureter? And how did it go away on its own? Also, what was the time frame from when you were diagnosed with it on those areas to when it went away? I am very happy that you didn't endure further complications from it!
