Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Okay, so along with endometriosis I also have a small uterine polyp (diagnosed via transvaginal sonogram and MRI last yr.). Guh! Well, since Sept. 7th the polyp's giving me such crippling pain that I can't really walk more than ten feet with out taking a "rest" or the pain becomes agonizing.
So I finally got to see my gyn. She scheduled me for a sonohysteroscopy in 2 months, and then an eventual D&C hysteroscopy. I tried to explain to her I'm in so much pain I can't walk. Since Sept. 7th I haven't gone to school, I haven't been able to drive, I can't workout, I can't go to work, and the only reason I'm basically surviving like this is that my sister has been taking care of me. I begged my gyn for a sooner appointment. No dice. And I'm waiting 2 months just for the sonohysteroscopy. I could be waiting another 2 months for the D&C. I was able to make it through Sept., but I don't think I can do 2-4 month more of this.
So my question is: has anyone here had a D&C for a polyp done when they went to the ER?
If the pain gets worse then I plan on going to the ER, but I don't know if they'd admit me and do a D&C there. I know they do D&Cs for other things, but a polyp?

I have had two polyps, 6 months apart. With each one, I had a lot of spotting. I did have some pain, but now I wonder if it was really endo pain. In fact, pain isn't a major symptom of them, so I wonder if you are really having pain because of endo. I'm very surprised to hear that your dr is waiting. The first time, my dr did the sonothingy and couldn't get in. ;-o She waited to do the d and c for about a month. With the second one (a different dr) she was able to do the sonothingy and did the d and c the next week. The d and c is not at all a big deal. It would be a few days off work with what feels like a bad period.
I doubt that they would do a d and c in the er. Maybe try a new dr? If you are in that much pain, they need to investigate. What are they waiting for? I don't think polyps go away on their own. I would call a few gynos and see who can get you in quickly.

If worse comes to worse I'm going to have my boyfriend drag me into the office, lay me out on the floor, and I'm going to cry so loud and long that I'll scare all the other patients away and traumatize the waiting room lol so my plan B is to at least cost my doctor some business.
Yeah, who knew polyps could be such a problem. My gyn previously thought it was just a clot, but whoa, the last period I had felt like I was in labor. I had like uterine contractions.
At least I squared things with my boss (I'm in a dance troupe). Turns out his wife has PCOS so he's sympathetic. Instead of performing this season I'm going to be working with the costumes.

Hey, that doesn't sound like a bad idea to have your BF take you in and make a ruckus! I would have loved to do that after my hyst. At 4 months post-op, I was desperate for help but my gyn's office refused to see me and even hung up on me. If I'd gone in, I think I would have cost him some patients because I looked dreadful since I'd lost so much hair and skin "plumpness." And I would have been sure to warn other patients that he removes healthy organs.
