Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I think it's very normal to have anxiety before each procedure....before the first one because you don't know what to expect....before others because you do! I had the most anxiety before my third one. Though I had different fears this last time (I've never had an organ removed! & this surgery, though still out patient, was done at the hospital instead of her surgery center....where all three of my other surgeries had been).
I would say it is really not something you can say does or doesn't come back.....it does for some and it doesn't for others. I have more issues with scar tissue now than actual endo.
Those things you are worried about are not things you can really answer until after your surgery...so though I know it's hard to do maybe try not to think about that stuff yet. Try instead to spend time getting yourself ready for surgery (when is it?)
That's really interesting that it was minimal but returned every time. I hate how unpredictable the nature of this disease is.
I guess I'll just have to be patient and hope for the best. My surgery is January 6th (right in time to recover and start spring semester). I'm also hoping that my pre-op appointment will make me feel more comfortable since this is my first procedure with this doctor. I'm nervous about what will be done with the endo on my ureter. I'm curious to see what this doctor thinks about it.
