I have recently been diagnosed with endometriosis in my c section scar and in the tissue in my stomach wall. I was in the ER for severe pain and was worked up with CT scan, ultrasound and pelvic exam. All were painful, all were negative. I was labeled a drug seeker and sent home. I went to my OB doctor the next day and he feels I have endometriosis that is in my previous surgical scar. The only way to get a true diagnosis is by surgery, which he does not want to do because of the risk of it spreading. It will not show up on ANY scan. I was placed on generic seasonique and told to take it so that I never have another period. If these do not work, I will have to take lupron injections to "shut down" my ovaries. I really do not want to do this! I did not have trouble with endometriosis before, if I had it, I didnt know. I did not have any trouble concieving my 2 children. Apparently both of my children being born by cesarean placed me at a higher risk. The pills seem to be helping, but I am still in pain daily. At least at this point it is tolerable. My stomach is very tender at my scar and has been since the incision was made. I am overweight, but you can feel the "lumps" of tissue around my incision and there is one spot that gets irritated often apparently where the endometrial tissue is close to the surface. I wanted to share my story because this is something that apparently is kinda rare, but is painful as most women who have endometriosis know. If you have had this, I would like to know your story and what has/hasnt worked for you. BTW, I am a RN and hope that I never make a patient feel the way I made to feel in the ER.
