Yeah, my pain was considerably worse for 3-6 months after my lap. I think everything they do just kind of aggravates everything. Hopefully it will get better! Mine did.

I don't actually think it's endo pain...I think it's simply still recovery pain. It can take 6-9 months for the inside of your body to be completely healed. I've had 4 laps and had a varying degree of pain with each for several months after.

Thanks for the help, I was not sure if I needed to see the doctor again. I will give it a while longer and see how I feel. They also opened my cervix to do the dye test so maybe that has something to do with it. Not sure, but regardless I hope it gets better soon!!

When I was on birth control the pain was bad, but after my laparotomy the pain became unbearable. I went to the er multiple times for pain control. I would throw up and shake for days. I didn't go back on bc since we were trying. My doc encouraged lupron, but I refused bc I wanted a baby(26 yrs old already Ttc for a year). Big mistake. We did multiple fertility treatments causing more pain. Was on major pain killers (Deloted?) 6 mo later forced to do lupron shots for 6 mo bc pain. 6 rounds of ov induction, 3 rounds of ivf, and 5 years later I gave birth to bg twins. No period yet, but I am already fearing it. Hope my story helps.

Also wished I had gone right for ivf instead of messing around with other treatments. It's hard to do the most expensive thing first, but every treatment caused endo flare ups for me. I remember a friend advising me of this, wish I had listened.

This is exactly why I am very hesitant to do a lap if the pain is worse what the hell does that accomplish? Just to have one pain free year and than back again. No thank you.

Alana, surgery can still be very helpful. Even though my pain was bad in the few months after surgery, I no longer get the crippling, drop to the floor pain that I had before surgery! My hips are no longer so sensitive that the doctor can't touch them without me screaming. Surgery still has many benefits and I am very happy I did it.

I'm just really confused because I got off birth control and no longer have ANY pain zero. I still haven't got my period so who knows, but I just don't like the idea of having to go back thru something and not feeling OK for 6 months. That to me is crazy. And I hear a lot of people cant tolerate sex after... that's not my bag of fun. I just don't know, I just don't want to have worse pain, especially since I don't have daily pain now. My doc thinks it may be adeno tho because it's generally ONLY with my period and localized to my uterus. Kinda just wanna take the damn thing out haha.

How long ago was your surgery? The majority of everyone has like 7 laps. I'd get to the point and say absolutely not no more. The only bad thing I have now is migraines- but I feel like I can get meds to help with that maybe? I'm glad you're feeling well and I'm def not bashing surgery, I just don't know what to do. This whole thing is crazy lol

Alana I've had 4 laps and my pain was never worse after surgery. I had regular recovery pain but endo pain was never worse. Bottom line is you have to have surgery for an endo diagnosis. I'm not sure why you were on bc in the first place...if u had endo it's possible the bc stopped it's growth but if it was endo it will grow again now that you've stopped the bc...and you will have whatever issues you had before. I have never once regretted any of my surgeries. And I will have another it is comes to that again! For me, my surgeries and recoveries have caused me far less issues and pain than any of my treatments.
