Hi everyone,
I have been on norethindrone for probably about six years now, and it has really been the only thing that has worked for symptom relief and still allowed me to function somewhat normally. I have tried pretty much everything else, and the treatments either did not work, or as in the case of Lupron depot, made me totally miserable. I've had three laparoscopies which provided temporary relief.
For the last almost two weeks, I have been having nausea, low grade fever, chills, sweating, headache and for the last three days, abdominal pain and diarrhea. I think that I might have started having the pain sooner had I not been on painkillers from the two back surgeries that I have had in the last few months (just living the dream). I finally went to the ER on Wednesday, and of course, like always, they thought it was my appendix or an infection. Nope, neither. They did, however, find "hepatic adenomas" on my liver, which they say are caused by extended use of norethindrone (and other BC pills). The doctor there told me not to worry, even though she had never seen the lesions before, and had only learned about them in med school (SO reassuring).
I guess my questions are:
1. Has anyone been diagnosed with hepatic (liver) adenomas from taking BC pills for endo? If so, what did your doctor do about it?
2. In the last 7 ish years since I was diagnosed with endo, I have never had the fever/chills/sweating with endo attacks, and they are not among the most common symptoms of endo. Could these be related to endo anyways?

As for your symptoms, what you're describing is not that uncommon during endo attacks. BUT...it's flu season. If the fever/sweating/chills persist it could be endo or hormone related. If not - you might just have the flu or some other acute illness. Good luck!!!
I don't know anything about those lesions. Hope you get some answers soon! I agree with kDeezy about getting a second opinion.
If I have another lap I'll probably ask for my appendix to be removed so I'm not always wondering if I have appendicitis or endo pain.
I don't know anything about liver lesions. Hopefully someone who does can chime in.

I know that women go off of hormones all the time in order to get pregnant, but I'm still really nervous. Has anyone had to do this before? What happened?
