is an internest the same thing? I just found the one who seen me in the hospital and im wondering if i should see her.. kinda dont remember what she looks like though and i dont want the person who yelled at me

My name is Nicky is that the Gyni doctor, if you are not happy with the one that you saw then ask for a second oppinion don't take no rubbish from anyone I have been through all that and it is far from right. I went to alot of different doctors and if they did not listen then I would go somewhere else you hahve got to be happy with the people you are seeing especially as they have not got a clue about endometriosis you know what you are going through not them you have to make that point. I am actually getting ready to go see my family doctor to see if I need to see one... my insurance requires me to get a referral first then make the appt so it just depends on your insurance!!!

I see an GI dr about twice a year. He is actually the dr. who first gueesed that I had endo and not a mental probem =-). While it is a personally awkward dr. to see mine has really been my champion through all of this.

what exactly does a GI doctor do? Im debating the Gi dr since I found out the internist at the hospital also has an office. Im thinking she might be able to help me more since she has seen me before

I have gone many times. Why do you need to go? What kind of problems are you having? I just called my insurance co. and asked for the numbers of dr.'s and called and made an appointment. Hope that helps. Don't ever be affraid to find help for yourself.

Depending on what your problem is your treatment may be different. I was having severe pain and random bleeding. I had a colonoscopy done to rule out Crohn's disease and it was then decided I might have endo instead.

If you are having GI problems I would go see a GI dr. (I am not sure how thihs is different from an internist?)

I have a really dull pain in my low middle and a sharp pain on my lower right side. My appendix is gone now and my lap came back "normal" but i talked with my sister in law today who is a nurse and she thinks he missed something. I am not sure if it is a GI problem my gyno well the last one just said it might be because he cannot help me. frustrating... I had pelvic inflammatory disease back in January thats when all this pain started the internist admitted me for it. so if my sister in law cannot get me in with this dr i am going back to her. I agree with everyone here. I see you have the infamous siatic(sp?) nerve pain on the right side like i do. I hate it. Runs down my leg, sometimes just sits in my hips or butt whatever. I saw a GI several times. He was good but could do nothing for me. You need a good GYN to do something about. As far as the referral goes, it depends on whether you have an HMO or a PPO insurance.
