Got the news from the fertility doc. He highly recommends I get another lap to take a look at (and potentially seal off) my wonky tube.
This would be the 3rd surgery this year!!! I can't even get my head around it right now. I'm still in shock and feeling pretty sad. I had planned to work this afternoon, but cannot even put my head around the idea...
Plus I'm in my period and in pain from the endo...life is interesting at the moment.

Honestly, I'd get a second opinion. 3 surgeries in one year sounds very excessive.
The doc who did my tube test said she wouldn't use the tube. My new OBGYN that I met last week said it's not something you "play around with" and I also read on-line about dialated tubes.
Turns out that dialated tubes act like plugged drains. They get full of fluid that gets stuck, and turns toxic. Then when a baby is in the womb, the fluid comes back up into the womb and can kill the baby.
He wants us to have the surgery because our chances of successful IVF is reduced by half (dropped from 40% to 20%) with the wonky tube.
I agree, it's a tough sell, but I unfortunately have done the research myself and know he is right. I'm just mad that he did the switcher-roo. Last month he said "I disagree with the tube doc, things aren't as bad as she let on." And now he is saying..."I wouldn't try to get pregnant naturally with this tube."
I guess the good news is that he's the top fertility doc in our area, and his surgery recommendation is probably a good one. So maybe I just found a good surgeon for all future laps. :-)
I thought that would never be me, I wouldn't do IVF. But now I'm stuck with probably only being able to do IVF if the tube is as bad as they are saying.
Or, not having kids. And the thought of not having kids makes me so sad right now...I didn't know it was so important to me. A couple years ago we were trying to decide if we were going to go for it, and now I'm left feeling so empty.
I'm definitely struggling today.
