I switched to using cloth pads for that very reason!! But before I switched..... after using the bathroom I would put something like Vaseline or A&D ointment (or something like that...Just something to create a barrier between your skin and the pad). Hope you find something to help!

Alana...She's right. I often use a product found in the same display as your pads, tampons, feminine deodorizers, etc. I don't have it with me, so I really don't know the EXACT name. It's a "balm" of sorts, to ease vaginal burning and such. It's in a dark blue tube, possibly by Monistat? If you can find it, it's worth every dollar (about $6). I hope it helps you as much as it helps me.

If you can't find it...the A&D ointment (even a diaper rash ointment) will soothe, if only temporary.

A&D ointment is used as a diaper rash thing and can be found there with Vaseline, etc. It smells funny though so I only used that at home (I like it better as it's for chaffed skin...) & Vaseline if I was going out! :-)

Thank you ladies I will look into it. With vulvodynia, I have to watch what I put down there, but I will call the doc and ask to see if it's ok! And yeah, boys have no problems lucky them :X

I agree with what Speckled & Christine have said, also for my two cents I sometimes use baby powder. I will sometimes just sprinkle a bit on a new pad, or use a little on the inside of my thighs (that's where pads usually bother me). I hope you find something to help! It is one of the most uncomfortable feelings in the world. Ugh.

Oh, yea...Alana...check with your doctor's office sooner rather than later. I would ask about the safety (with your vulvodynia) regarding all of the products we mentioned. They are basically created for women and/or baby bottoms. Just don't use any product containing talc.
