Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I just need to vent/rant.
I had my lap on December 7th and was finally officially diagnosed with endometriosis after a lifetime of excruciating cramps, heavy periods, painful ovulation and sex etc etc...you all know the symptoms. I had a 7cm endometrioma removed from my left ovary, but that was all my doctor was able to do. She said that I had so much scar tissue that my uterus is essentially anchored into place. She couldn't even really get in to look around because of all the adhesions. My husband and I have been off birth control and passively trying for a baby for about four years. She told me that I could actively try for 4-6 months, and then if nothing happened to call her and she'd send me to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Fast forward to last night...I finally got my first period after the lap (5 days late, which is super unusual for me). Usually when my period starts I am okay on day 1 and the cramps get terrible on day 2. As soon as the bleeding started this time, I was hit with horrible cramps. I took ibuprofen and vicodin all night and couldn't sleep (for some reason I can't sleep when I take narcotics) and the pain was so much worse this morning. I called my doctor to ask if I could double up on the vicodin and she said yes, and then immediately gave me the info for the RE and said that there was no point in waiting several months before I go to see him.
So now I'm sitting here at work and I am dizzy and nauseous from the vicodin...and it STILL HURTS. I'm waiting for the RE's office to come back from lunch so I can call and make an appointment...I think I'm going to ask to have the lap done again, but this time, I want the adhesions removed. I am just so sick and tired of being in so much pain. I am sick of logging onto facebook to see more and more of my little sister's friends posting their ultrasound pictures and pictures of their babies. It's just not fair, you know? Why me?
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. Hopefully I can get an appointment quickly with the new doctor and hopefully I can have surgery again ASAP. I just can't live like this anymore.

My first lap was similar, my doctor couldn't remove the worst of it so I am in the process of getting another lap scheduled.
The thing I highly recommend is get lots of opinions! My doctor also referred me to an RE and the RE recommended to just stay on continuous birth control (not TTC so that's fine). Thing is my doc had said the endo & fibroid were pretty severe and I might need a hyst so I was not 100% convinced by my RE. He also said he couldn't remove the stuff on my bowel, bladder, and ureter...so I knew I wouldn't want him doing the lap. So long story short I sought out an endo specialist and he doesn't think it's a great idea to just wait on continuous BCP and is qualified to remove it from the more sensitive organs. Make 100% sure whoever you get your second lap with can handle all your issues!
