Vitamin D

Was wondering if anyone was using Vitamin D in their treatment plan? How do you feel about it?

I was reading a few articles about endo and Vitamin D insufficiency. There isn't a lot on it since it hasn't been widely studied, but I know in the past that my D levels are always extremely low and sometimes never even register on the chart. I haven't tested my levels in a few years now, but can say without a doubt that my D levels are in the crapper. Was thinking that maybe I should make an apt with the doc to get them checked and possibly get a stronger dose of it since the over the counter stuff does nothing for me.

Hi...Just had my lab work done a couple of weeks ago. My D level was 6---unacceptable. She prescribed MEGA doses for 7 weeks since I have absorption issues, AND my bones have deteriorated like a horror movie since surgeries and Lupron (two cycles) 20 years ago. I've just really hit a wall. I don't want to exist any more.

I posted something about this quite a while back and the consensus seemed to be that ALL of us have low levels of Vitamin D. Other than my sodium levels being a little low, it's the only value that's ever off on my labs. I spent a few months sitting in the sun as much as possible and taking supplements but to be honest with you, it didn't make a dent in my symptoms.

I had to get my blood checked because I complained about being so exhausted all the time. It was confusing because I didn't know if it was my Fibromyalgia or the Endo or what. But my levels were at a 14. I had to take 10,000 Units I believe, I can't remember as well as my memory has been fried lol. Just like kDeezy said, I believe that every one of us all have low VD.

When they did prescribed me VD2, I felt some difference, but not a whole lot. I was expecting more side effects like severe nausea and vomiting and heart burn, but I did just fine. It all depends on our body chemistry.

A MAJORITY of the population has low levels of Vitamin D. and it plays a big part in fatigue, stamina, etc. Every single person that i know that has seen an endocrinologist has been put on Vit D Drops. My doc says that it's nearly impossible to absorb the needed amounts from food intake and the sun. After some time, it does help improve feelings of exhaustion which improves the mood as well. But as far as it helping endo..... i haven't seen a difference.

I have low vitamin D as well. I was told that low vitamin D is common with all auto immune diseases. I have Hashimoto's, celiac and endo. Guess that about sums it up. Haha.

I had something super strange happen to me. Last year I was taking 2000 IU of D3. I had my physical and asked my doctor to check my level and it came back at 75 ( normal is 50 ) so she told me to lower to 1000 IU per day. In the summer, I just got lazy and stopped taking my supplements, I was outside alot and figured I was getting enough natural sun. I just had my physical 2 weeks ago, and had my d checked again to see what my natural level was from being off any supplement for 6 months and it came back at 175!!! What the heck! I'm ticked at my doctor, she's not returning my messages in the patient portal. I know low vitamin d levels aren't good but what about this high #? My mom thinks the lab made a mistake and that it's not correct....I don't know what to think.
