Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I think part of the main controversy is processed soy http://healthland.time.com/2012/04/24/healthy-foods-that-really-arent-nutritionists-weigh-in/slide/processed-soy/
Diet advice always changes. It's also cultural. In the US a lot of vegetarians and vegans use soy as a meat substitute (i.e. veggie burgers, faux-chicken nuggests, etc...) It's eaten in larger quantites here than in other countries. This article mentioned something about it http://www.utne.com/2007-07-01/Science-Technology/The-Dark-Side-of-Soy.aspx
Good luck with finding a diet that works for you! Everyone seems to react differently to diet change so you could always give it a try and quit if you don't like it.
That said, I have also heard that each person is different. How do you react to soy. If soy is a main ingredient I actually get red splotches on my face. It took me a few times to realize it was the soy (in this case something called SILKY SOY).
